Named Salzburger of the Year 2002 by Salzburger Fenster — first place among the Top 100 personalities of the year, chosen by an independent jury. The certificate was presented by governor Franz Schausberger on 28 January 2003. Six laureates were honoured in total; also awarded: the scientists Sabine Auer, Robert Müllner and Dagmar Aigner, managing director Herbert Plank (AB Mikroelektronik), the fire brigade commanders Rudolf Winkler and Martin Schmidhuber (Thalgau) and Paralympic athlete Dagmar Haslacher.
